Dozens of progressive organizations, representing tens of millions Americans, have unveiled a joint campaign to stop Republicans from sabotaging the nuclear deal with Iran and prevent another war in the Middle East.

The joint campaign can be found at StopWarWithIran.com, which will serve as a central hub for organizing efforts in the United States to support diplomacy.

Since StopWarWithIran.com was launched this morning, more than 20,000 people have already signed the site’s petition to Democrats in Congress, which reads as follows:

Republicans are trying to take us to war by sabotaging the Iran nuclear deal. I urge you to support the deal and stop the Republicans from starting another costly war in the Middle East.

The petition signatures will be delivered on Capitol Hill in the coming weeks.

StopWarWithIran.com has also generated more than 2,000 phone calls to congress since the deal was announced this morning. StopWarWithIran.com includes an online calling tool that automatically connects petition signers by phone with Democrats who represent them in Congress, or, if they don’t have Democratic representatives, members of Democratic congressional leadership.

As StopWarWithIran.com explains, “Republicans are trying to sabotage the deal, put us back on the path to confrontation with Iran and start a war – but they can’t do it unless Democrats help them.

Organizations participating in the joint campaign include: CREDO, Campaign for America’s Future, CODEPINK, Council for a Livable World, Daily Kos, Demand Progress, Democracy for America, Just Foreign Policy, Left Action, MoveOn.org Civic Action, Other 98 Percent, Peace Action, Peace Action West, Progressive Democrats of America, RH Reality Check, RootsAction, The Nation, USAction, Watchdog.net and Win Without War.
