FYI – CREDO Action released the statement below in response to the Obama administration granting Shell final approval to drill for oil in the Arctic for the first time since 1991:
“This is not just Shell’s oil well in the Arctic – it is President Obama’s, too,” said CREDO Senior Campaign Manager Elijah Zarlin. “Neither the pristine Arctic, nor our climate, can afford Arctic drilling, and President Obama should know better.”
“This is a sad day, made more sad because a president who wants to be considered an historic leader on climate change should never have approved drilling in the Arctic,” Zarlin added.
