CREDO blasts EPA’s “failure to stand up to polluters” on ozone rule

FYI – CREDO released the statement below in response to the Obama administration’s refusal to issue science-based standards to protect Americans from deadly ozone emissions:

President Obama’s failure to stand up to polluters will lead to countless premature deaths and unnecessary suffering in the form of asthma and heart disease,” said Josh Nelson, communications director at CREDO Action.

By caving to the Chamber of Commerce and the American Petroleum Institute, the Obama administration has once again chosen the profits of polluting industries over the health and well-being of the American people,” Nelson added.

Earlier this year, more than 72,000 CREDO activists submitted public comments urging the EPA to “protect public health by setting standards that reflect scientific and medical knowledge.” The activists called for the ozone standard to be set to 60 parts per billion.
