Largest corporate contributor to Planned Parenthood starts 2016 with all pro-choice donations slate.

San Francisco, CA – CREDO Mobile – Planned Parenthood’s largest corporate contributor – announced today that NARAL Pro Choice America, Planned Parenthood affiliates and the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health have been selected for their work to provide and protect access to reproductive healthcare to receive funding this month as part of CREDO’s innovative monthly donations program.

The three groups were nominated by CREDO Mobile customers and then chosen from among hundreds of nonprofits as CREDO’s first monthly donations slate of 2016. In 2015, the average monthly amount split between three groups totalled more than $200,000.

To determine how much funding each group will receive, CREDO Mobile customers and activists will vote online for the organization they want to see receive the most funding. The votes will be tallied at the end of the month and the funds will be divided appropriately between the three groups based on the votes each group received.

Through both its donations program and its relentless grassroots activism, CREDO has fought to defend the right to choose and supported reproductive health care providers for decades.

In 2015 alone, 200,000 CREDO activists petitioned Republicans not to defund Planned Parenthood and over 155,000 petitioned Democrats to firmly stand with Planned Parenthood against right-wing attacks. CREDO activists also took to action in state governments, with over 110,000 petitioning governors not to defund Planned Parenthood clinics. And over 4,000 calls were made to Senate offices in the summer and fall in opposition to defunding. In September, nearly 150,000 activists demanded the Department of Justice investigate the attack on a Colorado Springs clinic as an act of domestic terrorism, and more than 130,000 called for Republicans to finally shut down the sham Planned Parenthood special committee and stop wasting time and money attacking women.

CREDO Mobile has donated more than $80 million to organizations committed to social change since the company was founded in 1985, including more than $3 million to Planned Parenthood and its affiliates.

Founded in 1985 as Working Assets, CREDO created a unique business that integrates consumer services with philanthropy and activism. Through CREDO services, CREDO customers have a powerful alternative to doing business with enormous corporations whose conduct is antithetical to the political, environmental and social values progressives share. CREDO donates a portion of its revenue to nonprofit groups working on issues such as women’s rights, the environment, peace and social justice.
