Petition urging Director of National Intelligence James Clapper to Withhold Briefings Catches Fire
CREDO Action has just released a hard-hitting one minute video making the case that Donald Trump should not receive classified national security briefings in light of his statement yesterday encouraging Russia to hack former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s email account.

At the same time, a rapid response CREDO petition launched late Wednesday evening has already garnered more than 50,000 signatures calling on Director of National Intelligence James Clapper to “withhold all classified national security briefings from Donald Trump.” The signature count, which can be viewed at top right of the petition page, is expected to increase rapidly throughout the day.

As the Republican presidential nominee, Trump is expected to start receiving highly classified national security briefings as soon as Friday.
“It’s hard to imagine that a presidential candidate who has possibly violated federal law by asking a hostile government to spy on a former Secretary of State should be eligible to receive security briefings,” said CREDO Senior Campaign Manager Heidi Hess. “It would be irresponsible and dangerous to jeopardize national security interests by offering Trump classified briefings,” she added.
