CREDO blasts Clinton advisor’s reckless, dangerous and irresponsible views on Iran

FYI – CREDO released the statement below in response to former CIA Director Michael Morell’s suggestion that the United States should start a war with Iran to protect Saudi Arabia’s interests in Yemen:

“Morell’s suggestion that the U.S. Navy should start a war with Iran is wildly irresponsible and detrimental to our national security,” said CREDO Political Director Murshed Zaheed. “Publicly advocating such a reckless position should disqualify Morell from playing a role in any future administration,” Zaheed added.

This isn’t the first time Michael Morell – an advisor to Sec. Hillary Clinton – has publicly expressed hawkish views that put U.S. national security at risk. As Eric Levitz pointed out at New York Magazine, “he is also an opponent of the Iran nuclear agreement, a defender of waterboarding, and an advocate for making Russia “pay a price” in Syria by covertly killing Putin’s soldiers.”
