FYI – CREDO Action co-director Heidi Hess issued the following statement after President Donald Trump tweeted a threat to deport “millions” of undocumented immigrants next week:
“Whether or not Donald Trump has the competence to actually follow through on this threat, we should all be alarmed and incensed that a right-wing demagogue is using the most powerful office in the country to threaten the forcible removal of millions of Americans. This is exactly the kind of rhetoric that has preceded the darkest chapters in our history, it should concern us deeply, and it underlines the fierce urgency of moving forward with impeachment. Refusing to hold Trump accountable amounts to nothing less than tacit approval, and that’s not acceptable. Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats need to stop dithering, stand with the communities Trump attacks every day and open an impeachment inquiry at once.”
