WINNING TOGETHER We are millions of people taking action for progressive change

Following the Senate HELP Committee’s hearing on the appointment of ex-Walmart, union-busting lawyer Eugene Scalia as the head of the Department of Labor, CREDO Action Co-Director Heidi Hess released the following statement:

“Eugene Scalia’s testimony today proved that if the Senate confirms him as our next Secretary of Labor, it would be a huge victory for corporations and an absolute disaster for working families, consumers and communities of color,” said CREDO Action Co-Director Heidi Hess. “Scalia cut his teeth as a lawyer by fighting for corporations and making sure big businesses like Walmart, Ford, and UPS made every dollar possible at the expense of workers and consumers. With Scalia in charge, Trump’s Department of Labor would go even further down the path of siding with big corporations over workers and the American people.”

More than 70,000 CREDO Action members have signed a petition calling on senators to oppose Eugene Scalia’s nomination as secretary of Labor.
