Progressives call out Clinton’s stunning conflict of interest on Keystone XL

CREDO Action just launched a new campaign this morning to pressure Hillary Clinton to return all donations the Clinton Foundation has received from foreign governments.

Governments that have donated to the Clinton Foundation include the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Canada’s Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development agency, whose top priorities for this year include promoting approval of the Keystone XL pipeline.

“Taking hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Canadian agency responsible for promoting Keystone XL is a stunning conflict of interest,” said Elijah Zarlin, Senior Campaign Manager at CREDO. He continued, “If Secretary Clinton wants the trust of the American people she needs to immediately return all contributions the Clinton Foundation has received from Canada and other foreign governments.”

CREDO Action, part of CREDO Mobile, is a social change network of 3.5 million activists, sending millions of petition signatures and tens of thousands of phone calls to decision-makers each year. CREDO Action members also participate in meetings, protests and other direct action for progressive change.
