WINNING TOGETHER We are millions of people taking action for progressive change

In response to the ongoing controversy surrounding House Majority Whip Steve Scalise’s association with white supremacists, more than 50,000 people nationwide have signed a CREDO petition urging Speaker Boehner to remove Rep. Scalise from House Leadership.

The petition reads as follows:

“It’s unacceptable for the number three Republican in the House to pander to white supremacists. Remove Rep. Steve Scalise from his leadership position as House Majority Whip immediately.”

CREDO also released the following statement:

“Even for the Republican party, keeping Steve Scalise in leadership is going way beyond the line of what should be acceptable in 2015,” said Becky Bond, Political Director at CREDO. “If Speaker Boehner and House Republicans actually want David Duke and the KKK in their big tent, then a Congress under complete Republican control is going to be even uglier than we could have possibly imagined.”

CREDO Action, part of CREDO Mobile, is a social change network of 3.5 million activists, sending millions of petition signatures and tens of thousands of phone calls to decision-makers each year. CREDO Action members also participate in meetings, protests and other direct action for progressive change.
